Holiday shopping isn’t always jolly and joyful, which is a problem if you’re America’s biggest retailer.

Each Christmas, over 80 million people escape the holiday shopping chaos by cozying up to watch a few minutes of a holiday romcom. This got us thinking… what if we could meet our audiences on a social platform where they were watching entire movies in clips–TikTok.

We created a 23-part shoppable holiday film titled “Add to Heart.” It’s not a RomCom, it’s RomCommerce. we took Walmart’s vast inventory and created an entire movie featuring over 330 products—from wardrobe, to props, to set design.

Leveraging TikTok's newest shoppable product tiles, we became the first to turn them into an innovative way to engage and experience entertainment, allowing you to shop every scene.

“An important milestone in the history of retail.”

Like any good Hollywood release, we launched “Add to Heart” with trailers, a movie poster, a Spotify soundtrack and even a blue carpet shoppable premiere with real couples who met at Walmart. When the series dropped December 2 on TikTok, YouTube and Roku, audiences fell head over heels.

supporting social videos included cast q&a about their holiday traditions, tiktok style fit checks, beautiful tablescapes and even a festive “GRWM”.

almost every. single. thing. in the series was sourced directly from walmart—handpicked by our creative team to reflect current fashion trends, makeup and beauty obsessions and home decor (helloooo bows!)

Within a week of launch, we surpassed one billion impressions across paid and organic, with nearly two billion total impressions and counting. Walmart’s “Add to Heart” site had over 4.5 million visits—414% above projections for the campaign.

we saw thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of likes pouring in across both paid and organic with people eager to watch the rest of the episodes and snag their favorite products before they sold out.
